Applying
We really do want to help as many people as possible, so if you are a person who needs help or are representing someone who needs help, please do contact us to discuss your needs.
If we don’t have a volunteer available with the correct skillset, we can look to recruit someone. It might mean a wait for support, but we will do everything in our power to make the connection.
Frequently asked Questions
Will I be asked to pay for the service?
Our support is free, but if you are able to pay for materials we would be grateful for this contribution (or payment for part of the materials). However, if you personal circumstances are such that you are unable to pay at all, this would not stop us from providing the service, we would just need to fundraise for the materials which might delay the start date for you job.
Will the volunteer do a good job?
We make every effort to ensure that the volunteers who work with us are operating at a good standard and they will do everything they can to ensure that you are happy with the finished result. We will always be clear about what we can and can’t do and ensure that we manage expectations. We take feedback from our beneficiaries at the end of each job completed and, if there are any quality issues, these will be sorted.
Will the volunteer be safe?
Yes, all of our volunteers go through a strict screening process before working with us and we supervise and monitor them throughout their involvement in Here2Help.
What if I am not happy with the service or volunteer?
We recognise that we won’t always get things right and just because you are not paying for our services does not mean that you have to put up with poor service. We have a complaints process but would always encourage you to speak up from the onset of any problems so that we can sort them out early.
Will this be an on-going service?
No, we seek to help as many people as we can and each job requested will be a discreet piece of work with a defined start and finish. Our aim is to help you become as self-sufficient as possible.
